The Tanzania Rural Development Forum (TRDF) was honored to contribute to the development of recommendations for a fair and inclusive tax structure, presented to the Parliamentary Budget Committee at Bunge on 14 May 2025. TRDF continues to advocate for equitable resource mobilization that supports rural investment and sustainable, people-centered development.
Key Highlights of TRDF’s Recommendations:
- Expand the tax base by targeting the informal sector without burdening vulnerable population
- Promote Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) for rural development.
- Ensure transparency and fairness in the tax system that empowers citizen participation in national development.
- Simplify access to charitable status for NGOs.
& Strengthen domestic resource mobilization to reduce aid dependency
