The Tanzania Rural Development Forum (TRDF) is proud to be part of the drafting process for the National Development Vision 2050, which sets a new course for inclusive and sustainable development in Tanzania.
Our Executive Director, Nuru Maro, was among the contributors to the Vision and attended the official launch held on July 17, 2025, led by H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, along with national leaders and citizens at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre in Dodoma.
VISION 2050 aims to transform Tanzania into an inclusive, prosperous, just, and self-reliant nation, built on the pillars of good governance, peace, security, and stability.
Core Objectives of Vision 2050:
1. Achieve a high-middle income economy that is diversified, resilient, inclusive, and competitive.
2. Ensure a better quality of life and well-being for all people.
3. Conserve and sustainably use natural resources, while building resilience to climate change.
4. Build a skilled society capable of using technology and innovation to boost global competitiveness.
