Tanzania Rural Development Forum
(TRDF) was proud to be part of the one-week Carbon Credit Training in Mombasa, Kenya-strengthening our capacity to unlock climate finance for rural development in Tanzania!
With support from Global Affairs Canada, Alinea International, and Oxfam Consulting, and hosted by the Defenders Coalition Kenya, this regional training convened African Climate Justice Defenders to deepen their understanding of carbon markets, indigenous rights, and ethical project implementation through Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC).
As TRDF, we return empowered and committed to:
• Seizing opportunities in carbon credit markets to drive rural development
• Supporting local governments and communities in rights-based negotiations
• Mobilizing resources for climate-resilient agriculture, conservation, and sustainable livelihoods
From stakeholder engagement to credit issuance and benefit-sharing, this training aligns seamlessly with our mission to ensure that carbon finance uplifts both communities and ecosystems.
Special thanks to the facilitators and partners for reigniting our vision of a just, inclusive, and climate-smart future for rural Tanzania.
